Janet Jehn: Acadian Descendants, Volumes 1 - 9

Acadian Descendants Vol. I gives the history of the Acadians, some of their genealogies, and their whereabouts after the British Dispersion of 1755, many of them settling in Louisiana and the surrounding areas. Also included are the crew and passenger lists of the seven ships bringing the exiled Acadians to Louisiana in 1785.

Acadian Descendants Vol. II. The genealogies of Jean Gaudet, Daniel LeBlanc, Etienne Hébert and others of France and Acadia.

Acadian Descendants Vol. III. The genealogy of Antoine LeBlanc, son of Daniel, and Marie Bourgeois of Acadia, Québec, France and Louisiana. An expansion of the genealogy of the family of Antoine LeBlanc and Marie Bourgeois, second generation of Acadians, whose family was scattered between the New England colonies, France, Canada and Louisiana after the Grand Dispersion of 1755 (partially covered in Acadian Descendants Vol. II). Descendants of this couple settled at various points along their trail of exile. Some descendants qualify for eligibility in American patriotic societies, such as SAR & DAR.

Acadian Descendants Vol. IV. Ancestor charts of members of Acadian Genealogy Exchange. Over 400 charts.

Acadian Descendants Vol. V - A Tree of Forests. Beginning series of the descendants of Michel Forest and Marie Hébert. This volume covers descendants of the first two children, Michel Forest and his two wives, Marie Petitpas and Marie Celestin dite Bellemere, and Pierre Forest and Cecile Richard.

Acadian Descendants Vol. VI. The Forest series is interrupted to present a second book of ancestor charts of AGE members.

Acadian Descendants Vol. VII. Continuing the series of the Forest descendants, this one covers the genealogy of René Forest and Françoise Dugas, third son of Michel Forest and Marie Hébert. Descendants scattered pretty evenly in Canada, New England and Louisiana, among other states.

Acadian Descendants Vol..VIII. Genealogy of Gabrielle Forest and Pierre Brasseaux, continuing the series of the Forest family descendants. These families settled for the most part in southwest Nova Scotia, New Brunswick and Louisiana. Some vignettes are included.

Acadian Descendants Vol. IX. Still continuing the genealogies of the Forest family descendants, the genealogy of Marie Forest and Pierre Benoit and Jean Baptiste Forest and Elizabeth Labarre. The children of Marie Forest and Pierre Benoit for the most part settled in Louisiana. The children of Jean Baptiste Forest and Elizabeth Labarre, for the most part, settled in Québec and New England.
